For over fifteen years, 55DSL the original Italian street wear company have filled millions of wardrobes around the world. During this time they’ve also been heavily involved within the street sub-cultures that have inspired this casual wear. This september sees the launch of not only another classic FW’11 range, but also the start of an ongoing exploration into some of Italy’s other creative exports: it’s artists. The Kids In Italia series begins with two short films (made in partnership with VICE), which document these game-changing artists at work. Lele Saveri, a wellknown photographer from Milano and New York, is shooting for Rolling Stone and VICE and he’s working on writing a book as well. I love the fact that fashion and art can come together in such a natural-feeling way and I really think 55DSL did the job quite well.
