Contrasts. Somehow I’m always looking for contrasts in my outfits. In this case: wearing a pencil skirt with sturdy leather combat boots and a leather jacket. But let me talk about those boots for a minute: it’s not much of a secret that I’ve always been drawn to slightly masculine footwear. It’s not that I don’t like a classic pump or elegant shoe, I just like the aesthetics of a slightly bulky shoe more. Suits my style better I guess. So my go to choice of footwear usually are sneakers or ankle boots in all kinds of shapes and materials. I still remember I wanted to have a pair of combat boots when I was much younger. My mum wasn’t particularly fond of my shoe choices, but let met wear what I liked anyway. And boy, did they hurt. Same applies for my first pair of Dr. Martens. Remember the old Docs from back in the days? It took me weeks to break them in, literally. But of course I didn’t want to give in, because I’ve been saving all my money at that time to get me a pair of Docs. Long story short: I finally got myself a comfy pair of combat boots, and I’m supporting this local label TD Leather Boots at the same time. So much love.
