On what I think was the hottest day, we decided to pay a visit to Castelo de São Jorge, a Moorish castle that’s occupying a commanding hilltop overlooking the historic centre of the Portuguese city of Lisbon and Tagus River. Absolutely beautiful. The strongly fortified citadel dates from medieval period of Portuguese history, and is one of the main tourist sites of Lisbon. Of course it was. We tried to avoid the too touristy parts of the city a little bit, but this place was just too beautiful to not pay a visit. And touristy attractions are touristy for a reason usually, right? If you’re planning on going to Lisbon – I’d really recommend paying a visit to Castelo de São Jorge as well, especially on a warm hot day, because of the nice and cool breeze on top of the hill, shadow everywhere.. the view is absolutely stunning.

I was wearing a pretty simple outfit, like I did the entire week, with this striped dress I dug up at the &Other Stories last bits of sale on the day before we left to Lisbon. A pretty versatile piece, because I really enjoyed wearing it with my chunky Celine sneakers and a simple, tiny purse this time, but I can see myself wearing it in a more formal way – with heels and a smart blazer – as well.

I hope you all had a very nice weekend. I spent mine over at my parents’ place. They rent a place on a camp site in the middle of the forest, next to the moors. In fact, there’s not much to do except enjoying eachother’s company, long walks through the forests and bike tours with the family. Perfect. Now off to a week filled with work, work, work. How about you?
