You might have noticed – if you follow me on Instagram – I took some personal time off and booked a trip to New York with my love. Winding down is something I think I want to do every now and then, but somehow I […]

My love for sneakers is endless: whether it’s a pair of Air Max’s or a more basic pair of kicks (Air Force 1’s? Dunks? SB Blazers? Love them all!), I just can’t get enough. I feel most alive when rocking a good basic outfit and a pair of sneakers on a sunny day. Might have something to do with the sunny days as well, but I want to believe it’s the sneakers that brighten my mood. Besides that, I’ve always loved my classics. I’d be more than happy to walk around in a pair of crispy white Nike Air Force 1’s for the rest of my life. But with Air Max Day vast approaching (for those who don’t know: Nike celebrates the birth of Air on March 26th, because on that date – 30 years ago – the first Air Max shoe has been launched), my weapen of choice is another ultimate fave: a good pair of Nike Air Max’s. The first time Nike made their Air bubble visible: a true revolution in sneaker culture if you ask me. Throughout the month of March Nike launched several limited Air Max styles in very limited quantities, which made us sneaker heads want them even more, let’s be honest.. but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the pair I really, REALLY wanted: the Atmos Elephant. I’ve been chasing this sneaker since it first launched in 2007, and I tried to get hold of a pair in 2017, but no luck. But hey: at least I ‘saved’ (that’s how I always fool myself) 150 euros, which I’ll be able to spend in New York next week, yay!
And let’s face it: I have no reason to complain. I collaboration with Nike I shot this modern take on the Air Max 90 Infrared’s: the Air Max 90 Flyknit. Even though I’m usually more into the OG’s, or at least a retro version of it, this modern take really seems to be such a nice Summery shoe: it’s very light weight, because of the Flyknit upper I’d wear it without socks (no socks = instant Summer feeling) and the bright dash of colour is something my wardrobe needs every now and then. What do you think?

Before I met him, I never knew what it was like to be able to look at someone and smile for no reason. So sometimes I wonder what else is hidden inside me that’s denied and unknown. Waiting to be revealed. One of the many things I think about when I think about Valentine’s Day.
It has been almost 18 years now, since I met him. We were children, but certainly got along very well from the moment we met. Our parents became friends and so did we. It took us years to be able see each other from a slightly more grown up (I mean: we were 17 and 18 years old, you can hardly speak of being a grown up, but still) perspective and realised that we did no longer want to experience things without wishing the other were there to experience it too. I moved out and went to University and he was part of it all. He understood me. He was able to understand every word I was not telling him. He was just always there. And he still is. Two weeks ago we moved into our own little 52 square meter palace and we couldn’t be more excited to experience this together as well.
With Valentine’s Day approaching I have to admit that I’m slightly critical: I don’t think we necessarily need one specific day a year to celebrate love for our partners. For our family members or for ourselves, for that matter. But it does make me think about what I do have and come to realise that I’m in a lucky position to be able to say that I can tick the boxes for all of the above. Ain’t that heart warming? ;)
Virtual reality. Something that couldn’t be more contradicting at first glance (I mean, how virtual can reality be really?) but after having experienced this Samsung VR experience, I know better now: the virtual world and reality are closer connected than ever before and I had […]
