Sometimes it feels like I’m the only one in the world who hasn’t been to New York in her life. Okay, I’m slightly exaggerating here, but the general response I get when I tell people I’m going to the Big Apple for the first time […]
Happy Monday! I’d like to give you a little bit of an update on what I’ve been up to lately, what my plans are for the weeks ahead and.. well, an update on life basically. My year started off with a bang: my boyfriend and I heard we had to leave our house as soon as possible and everyone who lives in Amsterdam – or any larger city for that matter – knows it’s not easy to find a new property this soon. After a few moments of stress, we pulled ourselves together and started the house hunting. With result: within 5 days we were able to find the most beautiful little apartment in what I think is one of the best areas of the city. Of course we were beyond excited, but to be honest: we completely underestimated the amount of work that was ahead of us. Sorting all your stuff, packing, relocating, unpacking, etc. etc: madness, to try to do this in such a short period of time. In the meanwhile, I also had to go to Stockholm for work (not complaining, but timing wise: not ideal..) and also my boyfriend had to go abroad for a work-related trip. As I said: absolute madness.
What I took from this rather stressful experience is that in crazy moments like this, I’m able to remain calm, constructively oversee the entire situation and act accordingly. This also meant: prioritising to the max. I’m not saying my blog isn’t on top of my priority list, but let’s be honest: our house, our mental state and own sanity are higher up the list that the blog is. So in case you might have experienced a little bit more radio silence: here’s the reason. Thanks for those who sent me sweet messages btw, it really meant a lot that people who I don’t really know – but somehow feel like friends – showed they cared. So again: thanks a million!
In this very post I’m wearing the loudest (yes, you heard that right..) pair of trousers I’ve ever seen (or heard!): the patent fabric is so squeeky, it’s actually embarrassing to walk into a room wearing these. Paired them with my biggest knit (it’s so cozy!) and latest addition to the family: the Balenciaga boots in the gunmetal version I’ver been craving for from the moment I first saw them (but they discontinued producing these two years ago). Topped things off with some gold jewelry (I’ve always been more of a silver type of person, but lately I’ve been getting more and more into gold as well) I got from Brandfield. A girl’s gotta treat herself every now and then, am I right?
If there is one car that gets me – not the biggest car enthusiast out there – excited, it’s this one. Volkswagen kindly enough let me test drive this beautiful Beetle Cabrio Denim edition (told you! Has my name written all over it!) for a few days and even though driving with an open top wasn’t really an option during this windy and wet weekend, we enjoyed this awesome car and all its luxury to the fullest by driving to Antwerp for the weekend and celebrated this stormy weekend with my love (who is an absolute car-freak, so no complaints by the Instagram-husband on this one ;)).
Trends. I’ver never really know what to do with them. Even though I definitely don’t consider myself an authority when it comes to having the most unique personal style, I’ve never been one to follow all trends either. On the contrary, for most of my […]
